Ski holidays in Sölden

Six minutes until the gondola arrives.

Sölden offers winter sports of the very highest standard: 144 kilometres of slopes, two glaciers and – as the only ski resort in Austria – no fewer than three peaks over 3,000 metres, all easily accessible by lift. Thanks to the glaciers, the season begins as early as autumn and extends well into spring.

Your starting point is right on your doorstep: it’s just a 6-minute walk from the Zenz’n Hof to the Gaislachkogl cable car. And in the afternoon, Austria’s longest run – around 15 kilometres from the BIG-3 platform – takes you back down to the valley station – from there, it’s just a short walk home.

After a day’s skiing, your flat awaits: two bathrooms, so you don’t all have to shower at the same time; a kitchen-diner for evenings spent together; and a balcony where you can round off the day with a view of the mountains.

Three peaks over 3,000 metres

Gaislachkogl, Tiefenbachkogl and Schwarze Schneide: all three three-thousand-metre peaks feature viewing platforms offering panoramic views stretching far into the Ötztal Alps. Ambitious skiers set their sights on the BIG 3 Rally – all three peaks in a single day and over 5,000 metres of descent. Pedestrians can also reach the viewing platform on the Gaislachkogl by gondola.

The Rettenbach and Tiefenbach Glaciers

Glacier skiing

There are around 34 kilometres of slopes on the two glaciers, linked by a spectacular ski tunnel. The Rettenbach Glacier is where the pros traditionally kick off the FIS Ski World Cup – on the World Cup slope, you can try out for yourself just how steep it gets there.

Over 7 kilometres of airspeed.

Toboggan run at the Gaislachkogl

From the middle station of the Gaislachkoglbahn, one of the country’s longest toboggan runs winds its way down to Sölden over a distance of seven kilometres. On selected evenings, the run is floodlit – night-time tobogganing under the floodlights is a treat for young and old alike.

Gaislachkogl Adventure Summit.

A Bond-style experience at 3,048 m

Sölden was the filming location for the James Bond film *Spectre*. At the summit of the Gaislachkogl, 007 ELEMENTS awaits you today – an interactive Bond experience inside the mountain. Right next to it stands the ice Q – a glass-walled gourmet restaurant with two toques and a view that takes your breath away.

Just a 6-minute walk to the Gaislachkogl cable car

Right in the heart of Sölden.

From the Zenz’n Hof, it’s just a 6-minute walk to the Gaislachkogl cable car – in winter, it takes you straight into the ski area with its two glaciers; in summer, it takes you up to hiking trails and mountain peaks. A supermarket, bakery and bus stop are also right nearby, whilst you can leave your car in the free car park in front of the house. This way, you can enjoy the best of both worlds: right in the thick of things, yet still at home on the farm.
