Summer holidays in Sölden

Peaks, alpine pastures & mountain lakes.

When the snow melts, Sölden reveals its green side: over 300 kilometres of signposted walking trails lead to alpine pastures, huts, summit crosses and crystal-clear mountain lakes. The summer mountain railways take you up effortlessly – and the Gaislachkoglbahn is just a 6-minute walk from us.

Mountain bikers are drawn to Bike Republic Sölden, families to Mountain Cart, and those looking to relax to the summit restaurant. And around the village, there are excursions such as the Ötztal Glacier Road or the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road.

In the evening, you can return to your flat, cook together in the kitchen-diner and enjoy the sunset on the balcony. And if you fancy it, pop over to see our animals in the pasture.

Over 300 km of walking trails

From a leisurely cable car walk from Hochsölden back down into the valley to a hut-to-hut trek with views of the Wildspitze, North Tyrol’s highest mountain: there’s something for everyone in Sölden. A top tip for foodies is Fiegl’s Hütte, situated on a sunny plateau in the Gaislach area. Those seeking a bit more of a thrill should try the via ferrata at the Moosalm.

Bike Republic Sölden

Bike Republic is one of the leading cycling destinations in the Alps. Natural trails and man-made routes for all abilities, plus lift access via the Gaislachkoglbahn – leaving you more time for the descent. In early summer, Sölden becomes the meeting place for the cycling community at the Bike Republic Festival.

Bond, Gipfel & Mountain Cart

The Gaislachkoglbahn takes you up to over 3,000 metres: to the James Bond 007 ELEMENTS theme park and the gourmet restaurant ice Q. The return journey down to the valley takes you along one of the world’s longest mountain cart tracks – 7.3 kilometres from the midway station to Sölden, great fun for the whole family.

The Ötztal Glacier Road, the highest panoramic road in the Eastern Alps, leads directly to the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers. Take the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road towards South Tyrol – with a detour to the Top Mountain Crosspoint, including the motorbike museum.

Just a 6-minute walk to the Gaislachkogl cable car

Right in the heart of Sölden.

From the Zenz’n Hof, it’s just a 6-minute walk to the Gaislachkogl cable car – in winter, it takes you straight into the ski area with its two glaciers; in summer, it takes you up to hiking trails and mountain peaks. A supermarket, bakery and bus stop are also right nearby, whilst you can leave your car in the free car park in front of the house. This way, you can enjoy the best of both worlds: right in the thick of things, yet still at home on the farm.
